The reading site sets zero cookies.

For anyone who is not logged in, the reading site sets zero cookies. You can check that in about ten seconds: open your browser's developer tools on any page here, look under Storage, and count.

Serving you a page does leave an ordinary trace. Our host and the network that delivers the site keep standard access logs, which include your IP address, exactly as every website on the internet does. We do not analyze them, join them to anything, or build a profile from them. They exist so pages can be delivered and abuse can be blocked.

Whatever you type into our tools stays on your device.

We publish free tools that run entirely in your browser.

Most of them ship with a Content-Security-Policy setting of connect-src 'none'. That is not a promise in a document, it is a rule your own browser enforces: the page is not permitted to open a network connection at all. What you type cannot reach us even if we wanted it to.

Aggregate page counts through Plausible. No cookies, no profiles, no you.

We use Plausible to count page views in aggregate. It sets no cookies, builds no profiles, and does not follow you across other sites; its data policy spells out exactly what it does and does not collect. We can tell that a page was popular. We cannot tell that it was you.

We keep the email you give us, and a cookie only if you log in.

If you sign up for the newsletter or create an account, we store the email address you give us, through Ghost, the platform that runs this site, so we can send you what you asked for. Logging in as a member sets a functional cookie to keep you signed in; that is the one exception to the zero-cookie line above, and only if you choose to log in.

Ghost also records which page you were on when you signed up, so we can tell that a particular article brought people in. It is attached to your subscriber record, so if you ask us to delete your data, it goes too.

The newsletter measures two things. Each email carries a small invisible image that tells us whether it was opened, and links in it are tagged so we can see which ones were clicked. Both are recorded against your subscriber record, so they are personal to you, not aggregate. We use it to tell whether an issue landed. We do not use it to build a profile, score you, sell it, or target anything at you, here or anywhere else, and it never leaves Ghost. That is the line for everything we do: counting is fine, stalking you is not.

Every email has an unsubscribe link that actually works. Delivery runs through Ghost's newsletter system, which uses Mailgun to send.

Everything here is free. We do not charge for membership, so there is no payment processor attached to your account and we hold nothing of yours to bill.

Here is what you can ask us to do. We do it for everyone, wherever you live.

Email hello@advokatfrida.com and ask us to:

• Show you everything we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it.
• Send you a copy you can take elsewhere.
• Stop using it, or restrict how we do.
• Take you off the list, which unsubscribing does instantly on its own.

We honor these for everyone, not only where the law makes us. Where the law does make us, it is the GDPR in the EU and UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California, and both also give you the right not to be treated differently for asking. If we ever get it wrong, you can complain to a regulator: the ICO in the UK, or your national data protection authority in the EU.

• Ghost hosts the site and stores subscriber emails.
• Fastly is the content delivery network that serves the pages, which means it handles your IP address in transit and in its access logs.
• Plausible provides cookieless, aggregate analytics.
• Mailgun delivers the newsletter on Ghost's behalf.

Plain-English above, exact below, for the people (and regulators) who want it.

Here is what we process, why, on what legal basis, and how long we keep it.

Ghost, Fastly, and Mailgun are US-based; where EU or UK data reaches them, it travels under Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Plausible is hosted in the EU. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

This site is for grown-ups.

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email hello@advokatfrida.com and we will delete it. (Yes, we make things that teach kids about privacy. We sell them to the grown-ups.)

We date every update and flag the ones that matter.

When our practices change, we update this notice and change the date below. If a change actually affects you, we will say so plainly.
